Framlingham is an attractive market town in Suffolk, strategically located on the
Suffolk Heritage Trail, just off the A1120. Framlingham has been around since Anglo
Saxon times and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book (1086).
Framlingham is dominated by a Norman castle called
Framlingham Castle
which was the seat of the Earls and Dukes of Norfolk. There are plenty of other
highlights in Framlingham such as the Church of St Michael the Archangel - one of
Suffolk's most beautiful churches, as well as many attractions in the local area.
There are also many regular
events
that take place in Framlingham, such as the annual Gala and Country Market. Around
1285 a market was granted by the last Bigod (died 1306) to be held on Tuesdays,
Fridays and Sundays - and still is today.

walk marked by metal plaques around the town, taking you on a comprehensive tour
of Framlingham.
So if you see people walking around Framlingham who appear to be looking at their
feet alot, they're probably actually following the Town Trail!
